Visa issuance procedure:

 After you provide the necessary information on the form above we will apply to the Foreign Ministry for your visa .  This process will take between 3 to 7 days in principal.  Your Visa Authorization will be sent to you and simultaneously to the Iran` consulate or embassy ,wherein you like to collect your visa.

This Visa authorization refers to your application file at the foreign ministry ,whereupon the Iranian Embassy will issue your visa .

 You may also choose to apply independently for your visa at any Iranian embassy or consulate around the world.

 In all cases , your application would be submitted to the Iran foreign ministry visa department in Tehran for final decision makings.

visa issuance for American passport holders is subject to particular regulations. 
At present the Iranian Foreign Ministry does not allow American passport holders to travel to Iran independently.
Americans are required to travel on escorted tours; either as part of a tour group , or a tailor made individual tour. An exact itinerary , to which you must adhere , is compulsory.

To obtain a visa and to satisfy the Iranian Foreign Ministry's (FM) requirement , you need to make your all travel arrangements including accommodation , internal flights , and/or a private car & guide/driver throughout the trip in advance.

The maximum duration of a tourist visa is 30 days. However , this is at the discretion of the FM bureaus around the country to extend your visa.

 In the States , you have to go to the Iranian interest section at the Pakistani embassy in Washington. You will need to complete their local visa application form , which can be downloaded from the bellow or the website: www.daftar.org

Visas can be collected at any Iranian consulate around the world or in the U.S.A. Please note , you need to inform us at the time of application , which country you wish to collect your visa.

Consular fees for Americans is around $60.

Entry Visas :
Entry Visas ( single , double or multiple ) are permissions issued for foreign experts and businessmen who wish to travel to Iran for a limited period of time for economic , commercial , cultural and industrial purposes.

Entry or Transit Visa for Drivers Carrying Cargoes:
This visa will be issued for foreign drivers carrying cargoes to Iran or to other countries. For these cases , it is necessary to coordinate in advance with Diplomatic Missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran abroad .

Work Permit Visas :
This visa will be issued for foreign nationals who intend to work in Iran . Iranian employers concerned must obtain work permits in advance from the relevant authorities.

Airport Entry or Transit Visa :
a -An Airport Visa may be issued at the Mehrabad Airport for 72 hours for businessmen .
b -An Airport Transit Visa may be issued for 48 hours to applicants who intend to transit through Iran.
                                                                                                                                        Pilgrimage Visa :
A pilgrimage visa is issued for foreign Muslim pilgrims to visit sacred sites and shrines in Iran.

Tourist Visa:
A tourist visa is issued for foreign nationals who are interested in traveling to Iran individually or collectively to visit Iran or their relatives.

Transit Visas :
A transit visa is issued for a limited period of time for foreigners who intend to pass through Iran to a third country.

Entry Visa for Free Trade and Industrial Areas of Iran :
This visa is issued for a two- week stay at the ports of entry to Free Trade and Industrial Areas of Iran (Kish Island) , and may be extended up to six months at the request of the authorities of these Areas.
Note:
Foreign nationals who intend to travel to other parts of the country should submit their applications to the office of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the area .These applications shall be reviewed and visas shall be issued , if approved , within 48 hours.

Student Visa :
A student visa is issued for foreign nationals who intend to study in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Press Visa :
A press visa is issued for journalists and representatives of foreign media and the press who intend to travel to Iran for purposes relating to their professions for a specific period.

Diplomatic and Service Visa :
This visa is issued for the holders of diplomatic and service passports who intend to travel to Iran. 

Entry ,Tourist and Pilgrimage Visas
Extension of entry , tourist ,transit and pilgrimage visas are made by Aliens' Affairs Bureau of Law Enforcement Forces on the basis of plausible reasons and upon the approval of the said Bureau. it likely that one in case of transit visa can get a couple of weeks till 1 months extension.
